Appco UK reviews 2018 fundraising success with charity clients

Updated: 17 hours ago

Appco UK held a special event for its charity clients last week, to celebrate the success of our long-term fundraising partnerships, and highlight our vision and objectives for 2019.

Appco UK was delighted to welcome many of its clients to a “Celebration of fundraising” event on 4 December. Our honoured guests included Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity, British Red Cross, Starlight Children’s Foundation, Alzheimer’s Research UK, Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, Breast Cancer Now and Royal British Legion.

We were also delighted to welcome special guest speaker Dan Fluskey, the Institute of Fundraising’s Head of Policy and External Affairs, whose topic, entitled “A bright future of fundraising?”, was incredibly timely and thought-provoking. Dan suggested that there is no ‘next big thing’ in fundraising, but instead, we must all focus on the importance of doing everything in fundraising a little bit better and committing to excellence not just compliance.

Before Dan took to the stage, Appco UK Managing Director Mike Blane opened the event with a welcome speech that summarised Appco UK’s 30-year history and expertise in face-to-face fundraising, and our commitment to the professional development and passion of the fundraisers who represent our clients’ brands.

Appco UK’s head of fundraising Kate McKinlay outlined our core values – of collaboration and development, diversification, innovation, and compliance and best practice – and reflected on the achievements we have made in 2018 with the help of our charity partners. These include improved automation and iPad development for enhanced donor and data security, improved territory analysis for even better donor engagement, and interactive product training for fundraisers to increase their knowledge and innate understanding of the brands they represent.

Appco UK CEO Perveen Virdee closed the presentations by speaking about the vision for 2019 and showcasing our plans for innovation and increasing the value of each interaction through technology, interactive training, expansion and regionalisation.

Appco UK is very much looking forward to working with all of our clients, and strengthening our partnerships, in 2019!
